Apocynaceae

Apocynaceae, adalah family (keluarga) tanaman berbunga yang memiliki bentuk beragam, dari bentuk pohon, semak, herba, sukulen dan tanaman merambat, yang biasa disebut keluarga dogbane. Salah satu species nya yang terkenal di Amerika adalah Apocynum cannabinum. Tanaman Apocynaceae berasal dari kawasan Eropa, Asia, Afrika, Australia dan daerah tropis/subtropis Amerika.

Pada daerah hutan hujan tropis, banyak species nya yang merupakan pohon tinggi, tapi sebagian hidup di daerah kering, bahkan beberapa hidup di daerah gurun.
Pada banyak species dari keluarga Apocynaceae, memiliki racun pada getah, dan berbahaya apabila tertelan. Beberapa genus dari Apocynaceae, seperti Adenium, memiliki milky latex pada getahnya.
